23 June-12 Sept 2005. Robert Couturier is the last remaining representative of French sculpture from the 1950s. To celebrate the artists hundredth birthday, this retrospective brings together 90 sculptures and 20 drawings. From the beginning, this brilliant sculptor has drawn his inspiration from the female nude and constantly searched for a fresh way to express the human body. He has mostly given preference to the silhouette rather than volume and used a variety of different materials such as stone, plaster and bronze. Entry costs 8 (6 with concession, free for under 16s). Daily 11.00-18.00 (Tues closed).
