Royal Danish Theatre's Ballet Season
Until April 2011. The 2010-2011 ballet season at the Royal Danish Theatre's Old Scene at Kongens Nytorv in central Copenhagen offers some of the great ballet classics alongside performances never before staged at the theatre.
Some of the highlights are Tjajkovskij's Swan Lake, Danish ballet maestro and choreographer August Bournonville's most well-known ballet, Napoli, and Dans2go, a mixture of contemporary and classical dance.
Most of the ballets are performed at the Royal Danish Theatre, however some are being staged at the Opera House at Holmen. Founded in 1748, the theatre is the national Danish performing arts institution and presents opera, the Royal Danish Ballet, classical music concerts and drama.
