Self Portrait

14 Sept - 13 Jan. The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art dedicates an exhibition to the self-portrait genre from the 20th and 21st centuries, displaying 150 works by international artists from early modernism to present day.

The show touches on a number of themes, including the connection between self-portrait and self-exposure or self-image, and whether a self-portrait should be an objective, neutral representation or aim to capture the artist’s personality instead.

Some of the 20th-century artists on show include Andy Warhol, Emil Nolde, Francis Bacon and Frida Kahlo, while contemporary artists include Nan Goldin, Catherine Opie, Sam Taylor-Wood, Elina Brotherus and Elke Krystufek.

Tues-Fri 11.00-22.00. Sat-Sun 11.00-18.00
