Until 25 September 2005. Spencer Tunick is known for lining up and photographing thousands of nudes in various poses and places around the world. The New York artist started with natural landscapes in 1992 but branched out in 1994 with nude installations in Europe and the Americas. He has since performed 65 such installations. Entitled Corpus Ibericum, this new exhibition comprises eight photographs and two video documents carried out in 2003 in Spain and Portugal. This is Tunicks second individual exhibition in Barcelona, hosted by Kultur Buro, a space of production and promotion of cultural projects and contemporary art just behind the MACBA. Some 12,000 volunteers signed up to pose nude for him, but 7,000 actually turned up, stripped naked and took part in one of the largest ever nude gatherings. The photos show many thousands of naked bodies sprawled over Avinguda de Maria Cristina.
