15-18 Dec 2005. Dublins Point Theatre hosts the acclaimed Russian State Ballet company in this festive season production of Swan Lake and The Nutcracker, with Tchiakovskys beautiful music performed by the RTE National Symphony Orchestra. Formed in 1979 by Irina Tichomirova, a prima ballerina from the Bolshoi Ballet and director of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, the Russian State Ballet has toured internationally since 1987 and is now directed by former Bolshoi star-soloist and choreographer Viatcheslav Gordeev. Situated on the north quay of the River Liffey, the Point Theatre is one of Irelands top music venues for national and international acts and can seat 8,500. The Russian State Ballet has already performed at The Point several times over the last few years. Admission 75-30, concessions 10, discount for under-12s. Swan Lake 15 and 16 Dec, 19.30.
