26 March - 27 June 2010. Tracing the evolution of symbolism, this exhibition looks back at the origins of the movement in the romantic paintings and poetry of the late 19th century.

The exhibition examines symbolism thematically by focusing on dreams, religion, portraiture and mythology as well as genres not instantly associated with symbolism, such as landscape. Included in the show are works by well known symbolist painters Fernand Khnopff, F
