1130 August 2005. The dance festival is a central forum for contemporary dance and performance. It features an innovative and wide-ranging programme of the avant-garde from the international dance scene involving practically all the dance companies in Berlin plus renowned companies from Belgium, Canada, France, Island, South-Africa, Israel and The Netherlands. Taking place in 12 different venues and open-air sites this years programme focuses on the installation character of some works such as William Forsythes performance You made me a Monster. One highlight will be the joint presentation of some of the festivals stars of contemporary dance and the State opera with its newly-established Staatsballett on 21 August. The show aims to present the link between two world, contemporary dance and ballet. On this occasion Vladimir Malakhov, world-famous dancer and head of Staatsballett Berlin, provides the choreography. Prices and times vary by performances. Festival tickets, valid for 10 performances of your choice, cost 130 (90 for concessions).
