3-15 Jan 2006. The annual contemporary dance festival at Berlins Sophiensaele features a mix of dancers and young choreographers from all over Germany, and also showcases works by foreign performers currently resident in Berlin. Tanztage occupies three spaces at the Sophiensaele: the largest, the Festsaal, hosts several full-length dance pieces including Hanna Hegenscheidts Im OK, youre OK and Filippo Armati in My Life as an Art Piece. In the Hochzeitssaal, six young choreographers present their work from 5-8 Jan, followed by Andrea Millers Migraine for Beginners on 12-13 Jan. Every night in the Virchowsaal, Felix Marchand performs his solo improvised piece, Mixtape, to a limited number of spectators: booking is essential. In the closing days of the festival there is a Japanese multimedia perfermance The Black Cat with dancer/choreographer Yui Kawaguchi and a German/Estonian production entitled Already Played Tomorrow with Margus Toomla and Martin Nachbar.
