24 April - 9 September. Caixaforum Madrid hosts a major exhibition dedicated to the work of Giovanni Battista Piranesi (1720-1778), one of the most important artists of the 18th century.
The show includes 300 of the Venetian master's original prints along with decorative pieces from his series Antichità Romane.
In addition, there are supporting illustrations, audio-visual material and photographs that allow the public to appreciate Piranesi's masterful understanding of perspective and the almost three-dimensional quality of his engravings.
