8 July-30 Sept 2006. Londons Gielgud Theatre hosts the Royal Shakespeare Companys acclaimed stage version of Chaucers Canterbury Tales in an adaptation by Mike Poulton. Directed by Gregory Doran, Rebecca Gatward and Jonathan Munby, The Canturbury Tales are split into two self-contained shows, Part I The Knight and the Miller and Part II The Wife of Bath. All 23 tales are included in the RSC production, which includes Chaucer himself among the characters. The cast includes Paola Dionisotti, Mark Hadfield, Michael Jibson, Katharine Tozer and Claire Benedict as the Wife of Bath. Canterbury Tales Part I runs for approximately three hours including a 20-minute interval. Part II runs for 3 hours including a 20-minute interval. Not suitable for children under 12. Admission 41-11. Performances Mon-Sat 19.30, matinees Thurs & Sat 14.00.
