17 September 2005. With Chinese dragon boats, Hawaiian war canoes, Viking longboats, and Irish curraghs, this floating parade is a race to find Britains Traditional Boat Champion. Up to 300 craft are set to compete in the race from Richmond, just below Ham House, to Island Gardens, opposite Greenwich Pier and the Cutty Sark. The course follows a wide and picturesque sweep through the centre of London along the River Thames. Admission: Free
