4 - 28 June 2009. The Holland Festival was first held in 1948 in the Stadschoumburg in Amsterdam, and since then it has become an annual event. Offering a variety of impressive artistic projects including dance, visual arts and opera, the festival consistently proves to be Holland's cultural highlight of the summer, and is now the most significant international performing arts festival in the country. In addition to more traditonal art forms, spectators can look forward to both contemporary and classical music, multidisciplinary theatre and cinematic events.
