9 October 2009 - 17 January 2010. Spanning 1,400 years of Muslim history, 'The Islamic World' at CaixaForum displays 180 treasures associated with Islam, from the Iberian Peninsula to China. Artefacts include illuminated manuscripts from different Islamic cultures as well as objects made from gold, bronze, glass, ceramic, wood, stone, fabric and paper, by Islam's greatest artists. Apart from the richness of the pieces on show, this exhibition is noteworthy as it provides a taste of the future Aga Khan museum due to open in Toronto in 2011.

Open daily: 10.00-20.00 Sat: 10.00-22.00
