3-15 Oct 2006. The famous Chelsea Crafts Fair has changed its name and moved to new premises in Somerset House, but the quality of design and craftsmanship on offer from the over 300 UK and international exhibitors is as high as ever. Housed in a purpose-built pavilion in the Somerset House courtyard, the fair presents crafts ranging from basketwork to furniture, from hats to woven textiles and from functional ceramics to jewellery. The Springboard section of the fair exhibits work from 24 of the best emerging artists and craftspeople chosen by a panel of industry professionals. Divided into two six-day showings, the fair closes on 9 Oct for exhibitor changeover. All objects displayed are for sale. Admission 8, concessions 6. Two entries (Week 1 & Week 2) 12, concessions 10. Season pass (unlimited entry) 15. 3-8 Oct & 10-15 Oct Tues-Fri 11.00-18.00, Sat & Sun 10.00-18.00. Late night Thurs until 21.00.
