27 Nov-2 Dec 2006. Druid Theatre Company presents The Year of the Hiker by award-winning Irish playwright John B Keane. Written in 1964, the play tells the story of a man who returns to his wife and family having walked out on them without a word of warning 20 years before. Featuring a stellar Irish cast including Sarah Greene, Mick Lally, Nick Lee, Garrett Lombard, Eleanor Methven, Aaron Monaghan and Catherine Walsh, The Hiker concludes the Druid Keane Trilogy, following the companys acclaimed productions of Sharon's Grave (2003) and Sive (2002). The Pavilion Theatre hosts this production directed by Garry Hynes as part of Druids Irish tour. The Year of the Hiker is one of Keanes most produced plays and has been performed almost continuously in Ireland over the last 40 years. Admission 27-22. Performances at 20.00.
