11 December - 20 February 2011. In the first major solo show in a UK public gallery by Thomas Houseago (born 1972) the Modern Art Oxford presents an exhibition of recent sculpture by the Los Angeles-based British artist.

Described as "radical in his conservatism", Houseago works primarily with materials associated with classical and modernist sculpture such as carved wood, plaster and bronze.

Known for his monumental figurative sculptures, he draws inspiration from television, pop music, science fiction, horror films and comic illustrations. Often appearing crude at first glance, his work contains multiple cultural, mythological and historical references.
