Until 4 Sept 2005. Titirilandia, the Festival of the Puppets, celebrates its 12th edition as the childrens part of the Veranos de la Villa. With 'Titirilandia 2005' the puppets and their fantastic stories aim to introduce as many children to the magical puppet worlds of today and yesterday. The festival runs from July, August, and into early September, and includes around 100 shows for on average 60,000 people, with performances from around 20 companies, most of whom come from Madrid, but also Galicia, Valencia and Seville. South American countries are also well represented, with major groups from Uruguay, Argentina and Colombia, as well as European companies from Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Serbia-Montenegro and France. Titirilandia continues its aim of uniting tradition with innovation, from the great classics such as Pinnochio and Little Red Riding Hood to modern-day childhood heroes such as Harry Potter.
