28 Aug-2 Sept 2006. The Gaiety Theatre hosts six evenings of traditional music and story-telling featuring some of the greats of the Irish folk scene hosted by compere Jim McCann. Legends of Folk stars Ronnie Drew (former member of The Dubliners), ballad singer Paddy Reilly, singer-songwriter Johnny McEvoy ("Muirsheen Durkin" and The Boston Burglar") and multi-talented musician Finbar Furey, one of the most gifted uillean pipers in Ireland. The Legends of Folk concert includes stories, poems and songs from Irish folk history, including classics like The Sick Note, The Craic was 90, Rare Old Times, Spancil Hill and Liverpool Lou. Admission 38-25. Performances begin daily at 20.00.
