18 April-21 June 2009. A group show in which 14 international artists offer their interpretations of passing and recurring events in urban life, when the traditional means of communications break down. There are works which reflect on public political events, such as the riots in the suburbs of Paris in 2005 (Practice Zero Tolerance by Adel Abdessemed), as well as on the less obvious, but no less important, happenings such as the disruptive effects of tourism on modern cities ( Elegant Sick Bus by Sislej Xhafa).
Modern Art Oxford, founded in 1965 is one of the largest galleries in the south east of the UK dedicated to modern and contemporary art.
