Van Dyck began as a disciple of Rubens, was then inspired by the Italian School and the work of Titian. He later became the court painter of King Charles I of England and is famous for his paintings of the English Royal Family which captivated the English aristocracy and led to the creation of a magnificent series of portraits of many of Europe
