17-27 March 2006. The Irish Film Institute presents the 12th edition of the VIVA! festival of Spanish cinema, which this year also features films from Mexico, Colombia and Argentina. The 12-film programme includes a film by Argentinian director Anahi Berneri, A Year Out of Love, winner of the Teddy Award at this years Berlinale. Other highlights include a football movie from Spain entitled Real. The Movie, a film from Mexico about the El Salvador war entitled Innocent Voices and a story of two outcasts filmed in black and white, The Wandering Shadows, from Colombia. The festival closes with Laura Mas Dying in San Hilario. All films are sub-titled in English. Admission 7.50 & 8, concessions 6 & 7. For times and films see website.
