14 October 2009 - 29 August 2010. Offering the chance to discover a strange but beautiful underwater world, this exhibition allows viewers to observe divers interacting with whales and dolphins. Sadly, in modern times these mysterious animals have had their names added to the endangered species list. For centuries whales have been hunted for their meat, as well as other raw materials. By the mid-20th century widespread whaling had devastated the world's whale population. Likewise, the fate of dolphins remains perilous, with thousands caught every year in the nets of tuna fishermen.
The Museum of Natural Sciences, with its many permanent and temporary exhibitions, aims to develop and promote scientific knowledge in Brussels.
