Wien Modern 2005 - Festival of Contemporary Music

4-28 Nov 2005. Vienna becomes a hub of international contemporary music in this top-draw festival. World renowned composers, artists, and ensembles have been invited since 1988 to bring the world of sound to the Austrian capital. Revolving around the composers Helmut Lachenmann, Beat Furrer and Giacinto Scelsi, this year focuses on "collective identities". The festival also includes electronic music and provides a platform for modern dance, new visuals, texts and film. There are also special concerts for children and youngsters, forming a festival within the festival.
