8 July-23 Sept 2006. Conall Morrisons production of Oscar Wildes classic comedy of manners "The importance of being Earnest" returns to the Abbey Theatre following its sell-out success last year. The play opens with Wilde breakfasting on champagne in a Paris caf, where he decides to cast a new production of The Importance of Being Earnest using the cafs elegant clientele. The resulting all-male cast includes Des Cave, Ned Dennehy, Marty Rea, Stephen Hogan and Sean Kearns, with Alan Stanford in the central role of Wilde/Lady Bracknell. Described by The Guardian as fun and sumptuous, The Importance of Being Earnest is designed by Sabine Dargent with lighting by Ben Ormerod. Admission 30-15. Concession 12 available Mon-Thurs. Sat matinees 15 concession 12.
