William Kentridge: Thick Time

21 Sept-15 Jan. London's Whitechapel Gallery stages a major exhibition of work by the renowned visual artist, filmmaker and director William Kentridge.

The show includes six large-scale installations by the South African artist whose work explores concepts such as time, history, colonialism and revolutionary politics.

Exhibition highlights include the film work Second-hand Reading (2013), installation O Sentimental Machine (2015) and The Refusal of Time (2012), an immersive work created with several international collaborators including composer Philip Miller, projection designer Catherine Meyburgh, choreographer Dada Masilo, and scientist Peter Galison.

Kentridge made international headlines in 2016 with his monumental frieze, Triumphs and Laments, along the banks of the river Tiber in Rome.
