Until 15 Oct 2005. This celebration of the great in Great Britain is a special festival being held at the luxury London department store Harrods and runs until 15 October, Londons famous department store. Each floor of Harrods has been converted to promote a particular part of Britishness from that great topic of conversation, The Weather (brollies, raincoats, barbecues, swimming costumes and much more) to British icons like the Post Office, Punch & Judy and Postman Pat, he of the black and white cat. The other zones include a Multi Culture area with Indian curry, Caribbean Jerk, and tea and biscuits done the English way. Theres a Village Green area with bowling, croquet and Harrods hampers of course. On the entertainment side, the English National Ballet will do a rendition of the Chemical Brothers Believe which is as tantalising a prospect as it is bewildering a combination. There are lots more British things to celebrate pets, extreme tea drinking and jenga (is that British?) Free entry Mon-Sat 10.00-19.00 (Sun 12.00-18.00)
