12 March - 10 July 2011. The V&A presents the first retrospective exhibition celebrating the career of one of the world's most influential and provocative fashion designers, Yohji Yamamoto. The exhibition has been conceived by curator Ligaya Salazar as a site-specific installation based predominantly in Gallery 38 but also with small happenings throughout the museum, each one focusing on a particular aspect of Yamamoto's work.

Offering insights into his design process, the show takes place 30 years after the designer's debut in Paris and features over 80 garments spanning his career including his cutting-edge menswear collections.
